A “hold and secure” has been lifted at Orchard Park Secondary School.
Hamilton police were called to the Stoney Creek high school over reports that a “disturbance” between two students, which happened off school property Wednesday night, was going to erupt on school property Thursday morning.
At no time was there every any danger to anyone at the school, said Const. Jerome Stewart, adding that the police presence was a “precaution.”
The school, on Dewitt Road, near Highway 8, was placed in “hold and secure” around 10:50 a.m. and that was lifted about 20 minutes later. This involves outer doors being locked, and no one being able to go in or out, but school activity continuing inside.
Stewart said police are no longer involved and no charges will be laid.
