Snow, icy conditions put chill into afternoon commute

Ice fog rises off Cootes Paradise and the Desjardins Canal early Friday morning as 11 degree temperatures and loads of overnight rain work to erode any remaining snow in the area. Temperatures are expected to drop dramatically throughout the day with weather forecasters warning of a flash freeze as well as snow and freezing rain conditions later in the day and overnight. Saturday's high is expected to be -11 degrees.

Environment Canada is warning that rain has already changed to snow in parts of the Hamilton area after the passage of a cold front.
