Six Nations man charged with assault in brass-knuckle beating

OHSWEKEN — A 43-year-old Six Nations man is recovering in hospital after he was beaten with brass knuckles and robbed.

Six Nations Police found the man covered in blood lying in the snow outside a home on Moccasin Trail at 7:50 a.m. on Jan. 6.

He was taken to hospital where he underwent surgery, police said in a news release Friday.

Police say he and another man had been in the home before the alleged assault.

The accused allegedly used brass knuckles to beat the man when he fell asleep and stole money from him.

On Friday, police arrested Michael Shane Jamieson, 31, of Ohsweken. He faces charges of robbery, aggravated assault, possession of a prohibited weapon and breach of probation.

He was expected to appear in court Saturday.

Anyone with information about the alleged assault and robbery is asked to call Six Nations Police at 519-445-2811.
