Two men were taken to hospital to be treated for smoke inhalation after a house fire on Six Nations Wednesday morning.
The fire broke out at 60 Seneca Rd. just before 8:30 a.m., Six Nations fire chief Matthew Miller said in a news release.
When crews arrived, they found "heavy, black smoke" coming from the west side of the house and two people running in and out of it.
Firefighters were able to knock the fire down quickly, the release said.
A damage estimate was not immediately available but the home has extensive smoke damage, according to the release.
The Office of the Ontario Fire Marshal has been contacted to assist with the investigation.
Fire crews were to remain on scene until the investigation was complete.
