Canadian Warplane Heritage Museum Lancaster set to take off Canada Day

History takes to the sky over Hamilton on July 1.

Weather permitting the Canadian Warplane Heritage Museum’s Avro Lancaster will take off at 11 a.m. on its first flight of the season.

The Lanc will travel from Hamilton to Niagara Falls and then across Lake Ontario around the CN Tower in Toronto before heading back to Hamilton.

In addition to commemorating the 75th anniversary of VE Day, the flight will be dedicated to the memory of Captain Jenn Casey and the 50th anniversary of the RCAF 431 Snowbirds Air Demonstration Squadron.
